Mambu: Making Composable Banking Mainstream in Thailand
Mambu, the SaaS cloud banking platform, appointed Ruder Finn Era's Thailand team as its public relations agency for 2022 to build awareness of composable banking and its profile in the Thai financial community. A programme of fully earned executive interviews, bylines and features in top-tier Thai media averaged more than 40,000 US dollars in PR value per engagement.
The challenge
Thailand's banks, lenders, fintechs and telcos face the same pressure as their peers everywhere: legacy core systems that cannot keep up with digital customers. Mambu offers a way out through composable banking, a cloud-native SaaS approach that lets institutions assemble the capabilities they need, but in Thailand the concept was largely unknown.
Mambu needed more than awareness. It had to build a profile among the financial community as an authority worth listening to, in a market where credibility comes from being seen in the right business titles saying something substantive, not from advertising.
Our solution
Ruder Finn Era's Thailand team was appointed Mambu's public relations agency for 2022 with a single strategic discipline: 100 percent earned engagement. No paid placements, only executive interviews, byline articles, in-depth features and similar formats in top-tier Thai media, where the editorial standard itself confers authority.
The programme positioned Mambu's leaders as voices on the future of banking rather than vendors of a product, using the composable concept to explain how banks of all sizes, lenders, fintechs, retailers and telcos could future-proof themselves. Each engagement was measured for its PR value, and the average per engagement exceeded 40,000 US dollars, a sign that the conversations were landing in outlets that matter.
