Garnier Color Fest: Hair Colour for Khmer New Year
Garnier launched Color Naturals kits and sachets in Cambodia at Khmer New Year with Color Fest, an on-ground activation designed by Ruder Finn Era around live product trial, KOL transformation stories and community participation, then amplified through KOL seeding and TikTok UGC. The activation reached 5.5K people on site and generated 5.3M organic views online.
The challenge
Khmer New Year is the moment Cambodians most want to look their best, and a natural peak for hair transformation. Garnier wanted to introduce Color Naturals kits and sachets at exactly that moment and position the range as a fun, accessible choice for changing your look.
Hair colour is a considered purchase for many first-time users, so the launch needed to lower the barrier to trial while creating enough excitement to travel well beyond the people who attended.
Our solution
Ruder Finn Era turned hair colouring into a festive self-expression experience. Garnier Color Fest combined live product interaction, KOL-driven transformation storytelling and community participation in one activation, with interactive game zones, hair transformation showcases, a photobooth and purchase-driven mechanics that encouraged both engagement and conversion.
The experience was designed to be shared. KOL seeding and UGC-driven TikTok content extended the event beyond the physical space, turning offline excitement into digital buzz and giving the launch national reach from a single location.
