Mastercard at the Cambodia Banking Conference

At the Cambodia Banking Conference 2025, Ruder Finn Era positioned Mastercard as a strategic partner in the country's digital transformation. A full-spectrum programme of keynote, panel and breakout sessions, branded visibility and stakeholder engagement aligned with the government's Pentagonal Strategy delivered more than 800 stakeholder engagements, 10+ government stakeholders and 40+ financial institutions engaged.

The challenge

The Cambodia Banking Conference gathers the regulators, bankers and policymakers who decide how the country's financial system develops. For Mastercard it was the year's most concentrated opportunity to be seen as a partner in Cambodia's digital transformation, rather than one payment network among several.

The brand needed its leadership in cybersecurity, financial inclusion and sustainable finance to come through in a way that mapped to the government's own priorities and left decision-makers with a reason to engage.

Our solution

Ruder Finn Era developed a full-spectrum communications strategy for the conference built around three strategic touchpoints: a keynote, a panel and a breakout session, each carrying a distinct part of the Mastercard story. Messaging was aligned with Phase 1 of Cambodia's Pentagonal Strategy so that the company's agenda visibly supported the national one.

Branded visibility through a booth and TVC kept Mastercard present between sessions, while a structured stakeholder engagement plan made sure conversations with government officials and financial institutions were planned, not left to chance.
